Guest House 02:38
I’ve given up thinking how many times My mind goes drifting down another line We both sit waiting for the night to pass You pour another drink and promise it’s your last We don’t have conversations Or think outside the past We’re frozen and we’re fading in our guest house I move uneasily amongst our holy things And open up a window To set my spirit soaring I’ve given up wishing I might never wake My thoughts go searching for another fate Your smile’s unsteady as you slump into your chair Talking always talking but your mind’s elsewhere We don’t have conversations Or think outside the past We’re frozen and we’re fading in our guest house I move uneasily amongst our holy things And open up a window To set my spirit soaring See me fly, see me fly See me fly, see me, see me fly

In the blue hour Night slides through my room Warm inside my room I think of you Did you notice how you made me feel? Time could never heal All I would reveal Silent steals this power In the blue hour In the blue hour Rain runs down my pane Blood and bone and brain All give to you Are you sleeping? Caught beneath the cloud Wake and catch the sound Of words I whisper loud Silent steals this power In the blue hour

Montegrano 02:32
Come with me let’s fly to Montegrano We can take a cart up to the sun Just as long as we are both paesanos With some sand to build our dreams upon A church beyond repair A town that doesn’t care Delight in your despair for Montegrano Family is all in Montegrano They have laid a table in the shade Don’t let on you’re metropolitano Pass the envelope and know you’re made The Mayor’s now your friend And you must comprehend You’re at your journey’s end in Montegrano No one tills the fields of Montegrano You would find your crops would disappear Why grow food for free for some estraneo? Better to kick back and drink your beer So lay aside your tools Be mindful of the rule Trust is just for fools in Montegrano

You say we've got as far as we can go And something maybe that I ought to know Your heart is set upon some other places You need to travel and see distant faces You wear a smile that's been out in the rain But still show the one that made me remain I always knew that there would be a price But now you want a second sacrifice Well that's fine for you - that's fine for you You didn't tell me you were leaving You gave me something precious to believe in Can I tell you what is so absurd? I really took you for your every word You shrug and say it happens all the time And thought that maybe I had seen the signs Will you spare me every empty phrase? How the heart somehow heals with the passing days But now you have some things to pack And coolly drop you won't be coming back Well that's fine for you - that's fine for you You didn't tell me you were leaving You gave me something precious to believe in You say we've got as far as we can go And something maybe that I ought to know Your heart is set upon some other places You need to travel and see distant faces…

about

Here we have drawn together four of our most popular songs that represent the wide range of musical styles we love to play.

Our EP begins with 'Guest House', a little slice of melancholy that's sandwiched in a catchy pop vibe, before stepping down a couple of gears to the clean simplicity of the piano and voice arrangement of 'In the Blue Hour'. Then follows the jazzy joy of 'Montegrano' which then gives way to the soul searching title track, 'Distant Faces', the final song on the EP.
